The City Center at Fat City is Champaign-Urbana’s destination for the hottest live music in Central Illinois.
Located in the heart of Champaign, just a few blocks away from the University of Illinois campus, this amazing new venue has become the go-to-place in C-U. Since our grand opening in April 2015, we hosted several national touring artists such as Bret Michaels, Dustin Lynch, Jana Kramer, Brothers Osbourne, Diamond Rio, Mark Chesnutt, Craig Morgan, Kane Brown and Jamey Johnson. We regularly host other popular bands like Brushville, Rod Tuffcurls & The Bench Press, Wedding Banned, 90s Daughter, and Ryan Ideaus & Feudin Hillbillys. Most recently, The Buzz Magazine voted the City Center the Best live music venue for 2015. Check out our calendar for upcoming shows.
Every detail of the City Center was well planned out during the construction process to provide guests with an incredible live music experience. The vision was to build a venue for year-round entertainment and bring guests a safe, clean and intimate environment. We have more than 9,000 square feet of space, a private VIP Mezzanine level with bar, gas fireplace, and private restrooms, a 3,700 square feet bar on the main level, two of the largest projection screens in C-U measuring 10’ by 16’ and 8′ by 12′, and a 2,000 square feet beer garden outdoors. And, for any of your sports games, we have plenty of high-def TVs throughout the City Center and Fat City to watch your favorite teams.
The City Center has collaborated with WCIA Channel 3 to present a live music segment every Wednesday afternoon on the “ci Living” show.
The show features some of the best local artists on the City Center stage. Stop out from 4pm to 5:30pm every Wednesday and watch live TV in our Mezzanine and enjoy the show! If you are an artist and interested in performing on the City Center stage during a ci Living show, send your request to Nancy at firstname.lastname@example.org.
